Our Services
Individual Therapy
Trauma Support Services offers a holistic approach combining traditional talk therapy with somatic therapy, and EMDR, when appropriate. We believe in meeting the client where they are at, using a strengths-based perspective, and the client is an active participant in the therapeutic process.
Therapy is a way to gain a new perspective on past or present situations, identify and address problematic behavior, express emotions, heal from traumatic events, improve life satisfaction, and set goals for the future. While we specialize in trauma and complex trauma, our therapeutic approach can be applied to a variety of issues. TSS can work with you on anxiety, depression, stress management, eating disorders, family relationships, and more.
Teen and Child Therapy
TSS provides therapy for kids and teens throughout various life stages. Childhood and adolescence have their own unique challenges varying from negative body image and bullying, to sexual identity and balancing family dynamics.
Approximately two-thirds of children will have an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE). Chronic stress in childhood, or multiple ACEs, can physically alter brain functioning, effect decision-making, and is linked to overall poorer life outcomes. Enduring trauma on top of other adolescent hurdles can feel isolating and impossible at times. TSS is here to walk alongside kids and teens as they navigate healthy coping mechanisms and their healing journey.
EMDR Therapy
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a type of mental health therapy method structured to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Chronic PTSD. The method involves reprocessing a traumatic event by desensitizing the client through images, feelings, thoughts, and body sensations. The goal is to ultimately be less affected by the traumatic event(s). EMDR can be incorporated into a more traditional therapy or clients may choose to engage solely in EMDR.
